Pakistan Vs Srilanka is the 3rd match of Asia Cup 2012 and this promises to be another nail biter. These two are one of the big three teams and both are looking for a win to stay alive in the series. Although Pakistan has a win under their belt, but wasn't a convincing one which came against Bangladesh. Srilanka on the other hand lost one to India by a margin of 50 runs. They need to win this one against Pakistan to keep their hopes alive in Asia Cup 2012.
Pakistan was saved in the end by some good bowling performances against Bangladesh. The pain area for Pakistan still continues to be their batting middle order. They had got a flying start from the openers. The strong middle order with the likes of Misbah and Younis Khan failed again to capitalise. Even Shahid Afridi couldn't trouble the scorers. Pakistan may sneak in another batsman to strengthen the batting deparment.
Srilanka has looked a promising side but they once again failed to beat India. Their batting line up is good enough to compete against Pakistani bowling attack. Srilankan bowling lacked lustre in absence of Malinga. Srilankan team misses the services of Angelo Matthews and Thisara Perara who are injured since the days of CB Series.
Pitch would continue to support the batsmen in the first half and team batting second would find it arduous to chase a target above 270. Hence the team winning the toss should elect to bat first.
