Match Update - India beats Australia
No idea but somehow a small ray of hope can be seen in the eyes of Indian fans. Somehow they feel India would clinch match number 4 of CB Series, even though Australia is on the top with 2 wins out of 2 matches.
Probably just like Australia even the Indian team is now high on confidence after beating Srilanka. Sachin achieved his rhythm back and again Kohli played well to be the highest scorer so far in CB Series. If Sehwag or Gambhir clicks to join the party, then Indian batting looks really dangerous.
As far as bowling is concerned apart from the run leakage in 1st match, Indian bowlers were pretty tight against the Srilankans. Something similar is expected from there here at Adelaide. Zaheer Khan was unplayable at times and he needs to maintain his same line and length throughout the series.
Two wins in two matches with a bonus point in first match strengthens the Australian position on the points table. India stands 2nd with one win against Srilanka. Clarke very well said that they need to play better cricket in every game as they are playing against the two finalists of World Cup.
Australian bowling lineup so far has looked very good with Doherty, Christain, Starc and Harris handling things very well. Batting on the top order is a bit of worry. Otherwise the middle order has provided a strong resistance to the opposition and posted winning totals. Ricky Ponting needs a good performance in ODIs to seal his place in the squad. He didn't succeed in the initial two matches and who knows this could be his day.
Something regarding the venue - Adelaide Oval is also the home ground of South Australia and holds a capacity of around 30000 plus spectator. If we consider the straight boundaries, they are long and hence we may not see straight sixes. But sixes would be visible square of the wickets where the boundaries are comparatively shorter.
This picturesque cricket venue promises a toughly fought match between India and Australia.
