Ind Vs Aus 4th Test Live
Since the boxing day, one team has exceeded the expectations whereas the other has given up in all terms. India's best chance of upstaging Australia in Australia now looks India's worst ever performance in Australia. To add to the pain, MS Dhoni has been suspended due to slow over rate in the Perth Test. In his absence, opening batsman Virender Sehwag will anchor the Indian captaincy.
Sehwag has been in a bad form on this tour with just one half ton. Similar is the story of most of the other Indian batsmen. Virat Kohli showcased some resistance in the last test and a lot is expected from him. Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman need to click this time if India has to win.
VVS Laxman has been the most criticized Indian batsman on this tour. His vulnerable batting makes him the first option for the critics to say he should make way for a youngster. Who knows he may click form and hit a ton to silent the critics. On the other hand even Kohli has a brilliant opportunity to continue his good batting and strengthen his position in the test side.
Australia will include Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc will be rested. The other bowlers in the playing eleven would be Siddle, Hilfenhaus and Harris. Indian selectors may not give a chance to Rohit Sharma this time also but it is likely that R Ashwin will make a come back. In absence of Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha will make an entry as wicketkeeper.
Adelaide Oval offers a lot of support to the batsmen but it also helps the quickies a lot on day 1. Rest of the days it will prove helpful to the spinners as well. Keeping in mind the stats that Sehwag has two wins out of 3 as a captain and Australia has one just one out of last four matches at Adelaide Oval; India should strive hard to capitalize and clinch a win here.
