Before the international schedule of this tour kicks off, England plays couple of warm up matches. The first warm up match will be played from 7th to 9th January between the ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate XI and England XI. The second warm up match will be played between Pakistan Cricket Board XI and England XI.
The venue for this match is Dubai where the climate seems to be perfectly pleasant for a cricket match. The sun is shining bright with a temperature range of around 17 to 24 Degree Celcius. William Porterfield will lead the ICC Comb XI which includes players from the ICC Intercontinental Cup. Porterfield felt honoured to have appointed as a captain for the team which will play against the number one Test team in the world.
England cricket coach, Andy Flower said this is a good opportunity for England players to get used to the cricketing conditions here in UAE. This match will also provide a great opportunity for ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate players to gain experience playing against International players.
Mudassar Nazar is the head coach whereas Dayle Hadlee is the bowling coach for ICC Comb XI. Meanwhile according to a recent news, Tim Bresnan will not feature in the 1st warm up match due to shoulder injury. He will make way for Steven Finn.
