 Match 1 -  Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Daredevils 


If we minus the first edition of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore has been one of the most consistent teams after that. Special thanks to Kumble, Kohli and Gayle; we have seen some outstanding performances in this team. Chris Gayle has always been one of the most demolishing and attractive players in IPL and he is a pure crowd puller. His huge sixes are worth watch. In no time does he score a ton and takes his team home. On the other hand Virat Kohli is at his best ever form since the time he score couple of tons in Australia and in Bangladesh. He looks unstoppable with his sensible batting which goes on with a very good strike rate.


With the likes of captain Vettori, Zaheer Khan, Kohli, Gayle, Muralitharan, AB de Villiers, etc.Royal Challengers Bangalore looks a very strong unit and certainly as favourites as Mumbai Indians to lift the IPL 5 trophy. Most important players to watch today from this side would be Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Muralitharan and AB de Villiers.


On the other hand we have Sehwag led Delhi Daredevils who finished at the bottom in 2011 but this year they have dared to begin their IPL 5 journey with a win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. A special knock from Irfan Pathan took them home. Still the team doesn't look too strong on paper but once the mighty players like Pietersen, Jayawardene and Warner join the team; even this team would look unbeatable on paper.


 Match 1 -  Chennai Super Kings vs Deccan Chargers


It is always special to talk about the mighty Chennai Super Kings. Undoubtedly the most successful team in the IPL history so far, they would like to continue the winning form this year as well. They received a bad start this year when they were defeated by Mumbai Indians on their home ground. Now they take on Deccan Chargers at Vishakhapatnam. 


Chennai Super Kings would be dangerous as they are already wounded with a early loss this season. We will certainly observe the best of efforts from Dhoni's team to clinch a win here. If we compare the head to head record of CSK and DC; out of 8 games both have won 4 each. So this is a good opportunity for CSK to improve this record.


Deccan Chargers will play their first game of IPL 2012 today. Cameron White will lead the team and although he will miss Sangakarra in the early days still he will be happy to have Amit Mishra, Gony and Dale Steyn in his bowling attack. Ishant Sharma is out of this year's IPL due to injury. Amit Mishra said he would like to continue from where he left last season. He said he was the highest wicket taker for Deccan Chargers last year and he would continue to clinch more wickets. Parthiv Patel and Shikhar Dhawan will add strength to the batting order.

IPL 2012 moves on to its second match as Kolkata Knight Riders play against Delhi Daredevils. Two buddies and team mates Gambhir and Sehwag will play against each other to open the IPL account on a winning note. KKR performed well in the last edition whereas DD finished last in the points tally. So Sehwag would be more eager to begin the proceedigs on a winning note.


Sehwag doesn't have an easy job this time as his team has suffered some early blows even before the tournament kicks off for Delhi Daredevils. The dependable batsman Ross Taylor is out due to injury and key players Mahela Jayawardene and Kevin Pietersen are busy playing internation cricket. Good thing is both these batsmen have struck good form lately and they will be a bonus for Delhi once they are back into the team. 


Andre Russel from West Indies is a good addition for Sehwag's team and players like Irfan Pathan and Roelof van der Merwe makes the side look stronger. Varun Aaron is unavailable for this game so Sehwag will have to rely a lot on Umesh Yadav for the quick bowling. Pradeep Sangwan is another good option to go ahead with for Viru.


Kolkata Knight Riders looks a strong outfit this year. They have wisely picked in Sunil Narine from West Indies who is a good investment for shorter version of the game. Gambir would be relieved to have Marchant de Lange as an addition in the bowling unit. Apart from this players like Manoj Tiwary, Yusuf Pathan, Kallis and Laxmi Ratan Shukla add up to the strenght of Gambhir's team.


KKR looks favourite to begin with but as well all know it is hardly possible to predict an outcome in the T20 format before the match begins. Let us enjoy two big smart crickets playing against each other to provide us another thrilling T20 match.

IPL 2012 gets an ideal opening match as the IPL defending champions Chennai Super Kings plays against Champions League champions Mumbai Indians. MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar. The other reason being the most successful IPL team CSK faces off the most popular IPL team MI.
